A training on diplomacy and international relations, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Institute for Foreign Affairs (IFA), for young diplomats from various neighboring African countries, concluded today in Addis Ababa.
At the closing ceremony, Chief of Staff of the Office of the State Minister for Resource Management and Services, Abebe Mebratu, stated that the training aimed to strengthen the capacity of diplomats and enhance mutual cooperation to foster a mindset and practice focused on jointly addressing Africaโs challenges.
Abebe also noted that the complex issues currently facing the Horn of Africa, and the continent more broadly require African peoples to work together to find common solutions. He emphasized that Ethiopia is actively working in partnership and solidarity to realize shared African agendas.
During their stay in Addis Ababa, the trainees visited corridor development projects and familiarized themselves with the city. Abebe noted the need to work together to promote the city as a top African tourism destination.
The participating diplomats, for their part, expressed appreciation for the training they received and the positive experience they had during their stay in Addis Ababa. They commended Ethiopia as a model African country contributing to the advancement and consolidation of Pan-Africanism. They also noted that the training supports the realization of Africaโs vision by promoting integration across political, economic, and social spheres.
At the conclusion of the program, participants were awarded certificates of completion by Jafar Bedru, Executive Director of IFA, and Abebe Mebratu, Chief of Staff of the Office of the State Minister for Resource Management and Services.
