The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Abdillahi Ismail (Irro), today held a series of high-level diplomatic meetings with visiting delegations from the European Union and the United Kingdom, focusing on deepening cooperation and strengthening regional stability.

In the first meeting, President Irro received EU Ambassador to Somaliland and Somalia, Madam Francesca Di Mauro, who led a senior delegation to Hargeisa on an official visit. The President briefed the Ambassador on the government’s key priorities, including national security, community engagement, democratic governance, and ongoing development programs.

Ambassador Di Mauro commended the administration for the progress achieved in governance and development, reaffirming the EU’s commitment to enhancing its partnership with Somaliland. Both sides expressed a shared dedication to advancing peace, stability, and long-term cooperation.

In a separate engagement, President Irro welcomed the UK Ambassador, Charles King, for substantive discussions centered on security, institutional development, and strengthening Somaliland–UK relations.
The two parties reiterated their commitment to a deeper and forward-looking partnership aimed at supporting democratic institutions, bolstering security, and contributing to regional stability.

Today’s meetings underscore Somaliland’s growing diplomatic outreach and its continued efforts to enhance international cooperation in support of peace, governance, and development.
