Somalia is grappling with a directive requiring it to cover the costs associated with this conference; essentially, it is being told to comply with the prescribed arrangements.

The African Union (AU) has addressed the Somali government using the sternest diplomatic language.

The AU Commission sent an urgent communication to the Somali Embassy in Addis Ababa, placing clear pressure on the Federal Government. First, an Extraordinary Summit of leaders from troop-contributing countries is scheduled to take place in Kampala on July 31, 2026.

This summit will be preceded by meetings of military commanders and defense ministers in Addis Ababa. The AU has insisted that the Federal Government of Somalia (FGS) urgently designate participants for the Addis Ababa meetings, explicitly stating that Somalia must bear all expenses for the delegations representing it at these various gatherings.

The Kampala summit will finalize decisions regarding military and financial aspects of AUSSOM, based on the technical-level consultations held in Addis Ababa………….

Ultimately, there is no greater problem than being unable to manage the peace and governance of your own country;

How long can the world continue to look after you❓️ Somalia now appears to have exhausted the world’s patience with its failed governance and the rampant corruption that plagues it.❗️
