The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdilahi (Irro), today presided over a high-level consultative meeting with the senior leadership of the three National Political Parties: WADDANI, KAAH, and KULMIYE; each represented by a delegation of three top officials.

The President was accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency, the Minister of National Planning and Development, and the Minister of Information and Communication Technology.

Prior to the start, President Abdirahman Irro expressed his deep appreciation to the party leaders for their presence and reaffirmed that today’s engagement forms part of the Presidency’s structured national consultative framework; an institutional platform through which the Head of State meets regularly with political party leadership to deliberate on national priorities and the country’s strategic direction.

The President delivered a comprehensive and detailed briefing on the national security landscape, emphasizing the government’s sustained stabilization initiatives in Erigavo. He underscored that these efforts have resulted in tangible and substantive progress, contributing to enhanced peace, security, and social cohesion in the region.

His Excellency also provided an extensive update on Somaliland’s international engagement agenda, including ongoing recognition-seeking efforts and the strengthening of bilateral and multilateral partnerships. He also highlighted the decisive measures undertaken by the Government to address challenges associated with the e-Visa system and the management of Somaliland’s upper Airspace; issues on which the President noted that the Government has secured important and strategic achievements.

A principal focus of the discussions was the commitment to ensuring that the forthcoming national elections are conducted with full transparency, integrity, and adherence to constitutional timelines. President Abdirahman Irro reaffirmed the Government’s resolute dedication to fulfilling all constitutional obligations, including the provision of adequate financial resources for voter registration and for the smooth execution of the upcoming electoral processes.

The senior leadership of the three national political parties thanked the President for convening the dialogue and contributed their perspectives in a constructive, informed, and nationally-oriented discussion.

They emphasized the importance of holding elections for national institutions on schedule, and affirmed that all technical and administrative responsibilities should remain under the mandate of the National Electoral Commission, in close coordination with the political parties.
