Somaliland President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi is expected to arrive next week for a historic visit to Israel, scheduled to take place between June 15 and 17. The highlight of the visit will be the opening of the Somaliland embassy in Jerusalem.
The two nations established diplomatic relations last December, and Israel is the first country in the world to recognize Somaliland. President Abdullahi was previously scheduled to visit Israel on two earlier occasions, but the visit was postponed for various reasons. During the visit, he will meet with President Isaac Herzog and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
