The United Nations Assistance Mission in g (UNSOM) has welcomed the recent talks between Somalia and Somaliland in Djibouti.

On Sunday, UNSOM issued a statement welcoming the talks and heralding them as a huge achievement for both nations.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud of Somalia traveled to Djibouti on Thursday last week for talks with his Somaliland counterpart President Muse Bihi Abdi.

On Friday, a joint communique from them indicated that they agreed to resume dialogue within the next 30 days.

UNSOM also hailed the incredible role Djiboutian President Ismail Osman Guelleh played in bringing President Mohamud and President Bihi together for the 2-day talks.
