






The President of the Republic of Somaliland, H.E. Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi (Irro), today paid a working visit to the Kidney Dialysis Unit at Hargeisa General Hospital, where 12 new dialysis machines have been added to strengthen kidney treatment services.
During the visit, President Irro inspected the newly introduced services and received a detailed briefing from hospital officials. He also met with patients receiving dialysis treatment, speaking to them individually about their health conditions and the quality of services they are receiving. The President said his administration had responded seriously to the concerns and complaints raised by kidney patients, emphasizing that patient care and the expansion of kidney dialysis services would receive special priority under the governmentβs health-sector development policies. The addition of the 12 new machines forms part of the Presidentβs commitment to improving kidney dialysis services across Somalilandβs hospitals and ensuring access to essential equipment, medicines, and other services required by patients whose lives depend on regular dialysis treatment.President Irro stressed that healthcare is a national responsibility, reaffirming his governmentβs commitment to ensuring that every citizen has access to quality healthcare services. He further emphasized that improving healthcare services is not merely about addressing current needs, but also about building a sustainable health system capable of serving both present and future generations.The President also announced that additional dialysis machines will be delivered to Borama and Burco hospitals, while a dedicated kidney dialysis unit is expected to be established at Erigavo Hospital in the near future.Β The initiative reflects the governmentβs broader vision of measuring national development through tangible improvements in services that directly affect peopleβs lives, particularly in the healthcare sector, while creating a lasting impact on the well-being, care, and safety of Somalilandβs citizens.
