Knowing that both official Greece and Cyprus were not positive based on Somalia issue. The case is not about Somalia. But on Somaliland.
Greece should consider recognition of Somaliland as a strategic move:
• Access to the Red Sea–Gulf of Aden corridor
• Direct partnership with Berbera (port & logistics hub)
• Airspace cooperation for ISR, aviation security and regional connectivity
• Synergy with Israel on maritime, port and air-domain security
• Creation of parallel security corridors (Eastern Med–Red Sea–Indian Ocean)
• Strategic counter-balance to Turkey’s footprint in Somalia which opposes strategic partners and harbours criminals against shipping interests of greece
• EU maritime outreach and Greek with the United Arab Emirates
• Complementarity with IMEC and deeper connectivity with India
Long standing historical depth of greece exists in these parts as well.
