Political gatherings may produce headlines, but no such gathering can manufacture a veto over Somaliland’s future, erase its history, sovereignty, or the legitimate aspirations of its people.
Moreover, such a gathering threatens not only Somaliland’s interests, but also the strategic interests of key countries in the region and its immediate neighbourhood.
Using the failed Mogadishu administration as a proxy against Somaliland and other important friends in the region and beyond will never work.
