The French newspaper “Le Monde” has revealed the secret establishment of a military base in #Somaliland, built by #UAE on behalf of the United States and Israel near the coastal city of Berbera. It explained that the site gains strategic importance due to its proximity to the Bab al-Mandab Strait, which could enable its use in military operations toward Yemen. The report pointed out that Djibouti refuses to carry out such operations from its territory for fear of retaliatory responses. In contrast, “Somaliland” may show greater flexibility in exchange for the potential recognition of its sovereignty by #Washington.
