EUCAP welcomes its new Head of Field Office Somaliland

This week, the Mission’s new Head of Field Office Somaliland, Artsi Alanne, arrived in Hargeisa to take up his new position.

Born in Finland and raised in East Africa, Mr Alanne started his professional career with the Finnish Police. The past 15 years, including in leadership roles, the new Head of Field Office worked with the Finnish Ministry of the Interior. There, he primarily focused on border management, migration, and internal security. Prior to arriving in Somalia, Mr Alanne also gained experience in another European Union Civilian Security and Defence Policy Mission, in Ukraine.
