The Diplomatic Mission of the Republic of Somaliland in Taiwan welcomed Dr. Tien-Mu Thomas Huang, Chairman of Taiwanโs Central Deposit Insurance Corporation (CDIC), and his delegation for a high-level meeting focused on strengthening financial cooperation between Somaliland and Taiwan.
Chairman Huang was accompanied by Ms. Annie Cheng, President; Ms. Yvonne Y. Fan, Executive Vice President; and Ms. Margaret Chuang, Director of the International Relations & Research Office.
The meeting follows the recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between CDIC and the Bank of Somaliland, establishing a formal framework for closer cooperation, knowledge and experience sharing, and continued engagement in the areas of deposit insurance, depositor protection, and financial stability.
During the meeting, both sides held productive and wide-ranging discussions on matters of mutual interest and explored opportunities to further deepen institutional cooperation.
The Somaliland Diplomatic Mission expressed its appreciation to Chairman Huang and his delegation for their visit and kind words, emphasizing the importance Somaliland places on its growing relationship with CDIC.
The two sides also expressed their commitment to building a strong, lasting, and increasingly substantive partnership, alongside continued engagement between CDIC and the Bank of Somaliland.
The expanding cooperation in the financial sector represents another important dimension of the broader and steadily deepening relationship between the Republic of Somaliland and Taiwan (ROC).
